It’s August and that means back to school! As a dad I’ve shared more than my fair share of First Day of School pictures. It’s the social media equivalent of the yard stick on the wall that shows how your kids have grown through the years. But this year it hit me, for the first time in 20 years, we aren’t sending any of our kids back to school.
I’m not sure how to feel about this. On one hand, for two decades our lives were filled with ball games, concerts, parent/teacher conferences, and yelling to GET OUT OF BED OR YOU’LL BE LATE! On the other, it’s a stark realization of how fast time truly does fly by.
Looking back, I’m proud who they’ve become. Kristin graduated from UNI a couple of years ago, Jake from Iowa this past May. Welcome back students and parents, don’t blink.
