When Mike Waters came to me and let me know he wanted to take a week of vacation, the first thing I did was to sob uncontrollably and ask him to reconsider. But after composing myself, I understood he deserved some free time.
So I will be filling in for Mike this week, and this morning I was joined by my wife Dawn. For those who don’t know, Dawn and I met at KHAK in the late 80’s when we were both working there. We were married in 1993, and worked together for 14 years. I’m extremely biased, but she’s REALLY good on the air, so when I asked her if she’d like to play radio for a day, she was in.
As Mike often says, we’re just the dopey DJ’s that get paid to sit on our butt and play music…what a wonderful life! As for Dawn, you can drive-thru at Scooters Coffee on C Avenue NE in Cedar Rapids, order a coffee and tell her she can stop by anytime to play radio with us on 105.7 KOKZ!
