Here’s a suggestion from Kathy in Delhi that I couldn’t pass up!
Molly Hatchet – Flirtin’ With Disaster
The iconic and memorable cover art by Frank Frazetta adorned many Molly Hatchet records, makinf them seem fantastical. More progressive rock than the cover would suggest.
Molly Hatchet were a southern rock band the likes of Lynyrd Skynrd, Marshall Tucker Band, etc. but with a slightly harder edge.
The unmistakable voice of the late Danny Joe Brown leading the band “down that lonesome road”…
“Flirtin’ With Disaster” made it to the Hot 100 and spent 10 weeks on it, peaking at #42 in 1980.
