Rolling Stones – Shattered
When The Rolling Stones album, ‘Some Girls’ came out in 1978, it was a smash. Most critics said it was the best album the band had released since ‘Exile On Main Street’ from 1972.
Even though punk had become a thing and the punk bands of the day were “anti-rock & roll” because it had become so mainstream, and disco had grabbed hold of the Top 40, The Stones managed to released a rock album that haters of both punk and disco were able to sink their teeth into.
Four singles were released: “Miss You” (#1), “Beast Of Burden” (#8), “Respectable” and “Shattered”.
“Shattered” made it’s way up the Hot 100, eventually hitting the Top 40, but peaking at #31.
