Cher’s eighteenth album, self-titled as ‘Cher’, released in late 1987, had the first single hit the Top 10.

“I Found Someone” was an instant hit and Cher was a majorly hot commodity again at that point. It became her first Top 10 single in 8 years. The second single, “We All Sleep Alone” written and produced by Desmond Child, Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora (who she would date later), went Top 20 after being released at the end of January 1988.

Cher was all over the Hollywood gossip mags as she was dating Rob Camilletti, a bagel baker who was 18 years younger than she. Camilletti ended up in the video for the song’s video, directed by Cher, herself.

“We All Sleep Alone” raced up the charts and peaked at #14 on the Hot 100!
