Co-written by John Oates (yep, THAT John Oates), “Electric Blue” by Australia’s Icehouse was a huge hit for the band and is still revered in their home country and played often.
The song certainly is the reason why Icehouse and a #1 album, down under with ‘Man Of Colours’.
“Electric Blue” climbed the U.S. Hot 100 in 1988, peaking at #7 and #1 in Australia.
Oates said that if Icehouse hadn’t decided to release it as one of their songs, Hall & Oates definitely would have recorded it.
