War – The Cisco Kid

Written by all seven members of War, “The Cisco Kid” ended up the band’s biggest hit and highest charter!

Released in early 1973, the band’s newest record, ‘The World Is A Ghetto’ was just gaining traction and sales were a little slow to start in 1972. “The Cisco Kid” started airing on radio all over the country and it raced up the Hot 100 and almost topped the chart! It peaked at #2 for two weeks, being held out of the #1 spot by Tony Orlando & Dawn’s “Tie A Yellow Ribbon Round The Ole Oak Tree”.
