Celebrating another birthday! 38 Special’s founding member, Don Barnes turns 68 today!
38 Special – Teach. Teacher
Written by Jim Vallance and Bryan Adams, but recorded by 38 Special for the movie, starring Nick Nolte and Jo Beth Williams, “Teacher, Teacher” did well for Don Barnes and company!
The movie did pretty well in theaters, making 3x its budget and so the “title” track raced up the charts. I love the movie and need to track it down to watch again.
38 Special was riding high on a string of hits, including those from ‘Tour de Force’, the album released a year before. Three Top 20 hits, two of which were Top 5 (one topped the Hot 100)!
“Teacher, Teacher” was all over the radio on FM rock formats as well as Top 40. It peaked at #25 on the Hot 100!
