The "Wet Lab" experiment

Good day!

So, Friday, May 24th I will be taking part in the Waterloo Police Department's "Wet Lab".  What's that mean?  Well, it means I'll be tossing a few cold ones back while I am on the air to find out how fast my Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) reaches the .08 mark.  The Waterloo PD will be testing my reflexes, memory as well using a breathalyzer to measure my tipsy-ness.  Yes, I get to drink at work.  A dream most people don't get a chance to fulfill.

Why are we doing this?  We're doing this to prove to you that it doesn't take too long to reach your limit.  To express that drunk and buzzed driving is unacceptable and extremely dangerous.  Way too many people get behind the wheel after drinking, thinking that  they are ok to drive, only to find out the hard way that they are NOT ok to drive.  We want you to think twice about getting behind the wheel of a vehicle after drinking.  If we can stop just one person from driving drunk or buzzed, we have done our job.  BUT, the idea is to make EVERYONE think twice before turning the key.

Yes, this will be fun, and at times funny, but the real issue is to make sure the information gets into your ears and stays there.

Be safe and don't drink and drive.

A HUGE thank you to the Waterloo Police Department and Officer Brad Walters for helping out.

And  yes, I have a ride home.
